Elan and Biogen say Tysabri approved in Canada
Last Updated: 2006-10-04 9:00:26 -0400 (Reuters Health)

LONDON (Reuters) - Ireland's Elan Corp and U.S. partner Biogen Idec said on Wednesday that Canadian regulators had approved their Tysabri drug as a treatment for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

The drug, which was temporarily suspended after it was linked to a rare but potentially fatal brain disease, was cleared to return in the United States earlier this year, albeit with restrictions on how it is prescribed.
