Argentine MS Neurologist, Dr. Leonor Gold, Passed Away
Leonor Gold, a well-known and very prestigious Argentine neurologist, passed away this past weekend in Buenos Aires. Dr. Leonor Gold was born in 1946. After finishing Medical School, she completed her residency training program at the Instituto Alfredo Lanari. She was trained as a neurologist in Baltimore and New Haven where she spent 8 years of her life.
After returning to Argentina she was appointed Chief of the Department of Neurology at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires. She was President of the Neurology World Congress held in Argentina and also the first President of the Latin American Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (LACTRIMS).
Dr. Leonor Gold has always had a major role in MS-related research, education and clinical care. In 2003 she founded INEBA (Institute of Neurosciences of Buenos Aires), a leading neurology and psychiatric center.
Dr. Gold will be forever remembered for her commitment to excellence, dedication and love and will be dearly missed by her colleagues, friends and family.
