A reminder to CMSC Member Centers and Program Directors:
The April 15 deadline is approaching for Foundation of CMSC scholarship applications in two areas.
Applications are currently being accepted for MS Workforce of the Future annual meeting scholarships. Residents and post-residency Fellows with a focus in MS are encouraged to apply, which will afford the recipient the opportunity to participate in the 2008 CMSC annual meeting educational sessions.
Additionally, with a focus on offering updated training and resources to professionals already engaged in the care of MS, there are also still a limited number of Annual Meeting Training Scholarships for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Applicants who are awarded these scholarships will receive a scholarship grant to include travel, hotel, registration, meals, and a stipend of $200 to cover other related costs. Scholarships will be awarded after review by our scholarship committee and approval by the CMSC and the Foundation of the CMSC.
The FCMSC will also award five Summer Research Scholarships of $5,000 each to fund medical students conducting a research project under the tutelage of an CMSC member clinical expert or thought leader.
The Summer Research program was established to support additional training and to stimulate individuals to pursue careers in the field multiple sclerosis. Applicants should arrange a proposed research program with a preceptor at a CMSC member center prior to submitting their application. A plan for the summer project must be formally agreed upon by the mentor and the applicant, and briefly described in the application.
These scholarships have been awarded to the Foundation of the CMSC through charitable donations by members of the CMSC Council of Sponsors.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to participate in a recognition luncheon or reception while in Denver, and be asked to provide formal follow-up on their experience following the annual meeting.

We hope that this scholarship program will support your professional staff with additional training that may complement your local program, as well as afford the recipients with important mentoring and network opportunities.
