The
Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers
Meet Our Members

Founded
in 1984, The Heuga Center is dedicated to providing medical,
educational and research programs for people living with multiple sclerosis.
All programs are based on the premise that having a chronic disease does not
preclude leading a healthy, active, fulfilling life.
Since
its inception, The Heuga Center has been providing medical/wellness
programs for people with MS and their families. These programs are designed
to supplement a person’s ongoing health care as well as educate and empower
individuals when dealing with a myriad of options for dealing with MS. In the
past 17 years The Heuga Center has spent nearly $19 million in direct
services to the more than 6,500 people who have attended one of The Heuga Center’s
medical wellness programs. The Heuga Center has also funded over $1 million
in research into the benefits of exercise for people with multiple sclerosis.
The Heuga
Center programs include its flagship five-day CAN DO program, two-day
CAN DO 2 follow-up program and one-day educational programs known as JUMPSTART.
The Heuga Center has a national multidisciplinary medical staff which provides
education and recommendations for overall health management. This approach compliments
a person’s ongoing MS management to optimize quality of life.
