The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers
Presents a Series of Special Short Video Presentations
from the
2003 Annual Meeting in San Diego

Program Highlights

The CMSC encourages presentations, which address timely issues involving MS patient care, and basic and clinical research. Presentations that reflect collaboration between specialties are encouraged. The topics highlighted during the 2003 Annual Meeting in San Diego include:

  • Grey Matter Disease in MS: The Untold Story - Mark Freedman, MD
  • Diagnostic Dilemmas in MS - Patricia K. Coyle, MD
  • Psychosocial Implication of MS - Fred Foley, PhD

Diagnostic Dilemmas in MS

Presented by Patricia K. Coyle, Professor and Acting Chair of Neurology Directory at the MS Comprehensive Care Center SUNY at Stonybrook New York. She aims to provide an interactive and educational experience for the attendees. Dr. Coyle reviews various cases and examines with the audience whether or not the patient may or may not have MS.

Psychosocial Implication of MS

The main presentation, Overview of Psychosocial Implications in MS, presented by Fred Foley, Phd, and supplemental presentations:

  • Cognitive Issues in MS - Ralph Benedict, PhD
  • Disorders of Mood and Affect in MS - David Mohr, PhD

Dr. Foley presents his study on the question of how family functioning affects a patients coping ability in MS.
