BAMS BIKE TEAM RAISES MORE THAN $51,000 FOR MS RESEARCH
Clay Walker’s Band Against MS Bike Team Beats Last Year’s Fundraising Totals

NASHVILLE, TENN. (November 2, 2009) – Band Against MS, Inc., (BAMS) is proud to announce their bike team raised $51,249 during the 2009 bike season, beating last year’s contribution by more than $26,000. Money raised goes toward furthering the goals of BAMS and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). BAMS, founded by multi-platinum recording artist Clay Walker, created the bike team as an extension of the artist’s charity to participate in rides across the country and to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS).

The BAMS bike team participated in four rides this year including the BP MS150 Houston; the Bike MS Ride 2009 presented by Point B in Mount Vernon, Wash.; the Valero 2009 Alamo Ride to the River in San Antonio, Texas; and the Jack Daniel’s Bike to Jack and Back in Franklin and Lynchburg, Tenn. “Bike rides are one of the main ways our group helps raise money for MS research,” said BAMS bike team captain Curt Walsh. Riders are already planning for 2010. “We’re hoping to have teams at six rides next year,” said Walsh. “Our goal for next year is to increase the amount of riders at each event, as well as exceed this year’s fundraising totals on behalf of BAMS and NMSS.”

If you are interested in helping a rider participate in a ride next year, or would like to join the BAMS bike team, visit http://bandagainstms.org/index.htm?id=14406 to learn more.
