|  | Galina Vorobeychik, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Galina Vorobeychik is a founcer and Director of Fraser Health Multiple Sclerosis at Burnaby Hospital, Vanvouver, BC, Canada. Dr. Vorobeychik did neurology residency at UBC and worked with Dr. Donald Paty at UBC MS Clinic from 1994 to 2004. In addition to her clinical studies, she investigated early onset MS and visual function. She received the Young Scientists Award at the American and Eueropean Congress of Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 and the Zeldowicz Research Award from the Division of Neurology at UBC in 2003.
In 2004, Dr Vorobeychik set up Fraser Health MS Clinic to service approximately 3000 patients in Canada's fastest growing health region. The clinic usees a multidisciplinary community-based approach offering diagnostic, fast track relapse, symptom management and rehabilitation services by a team of neurologists, other specialists, MS nurses and therapists.
Dr. Vorobeychik has also established a research center which offers clinical trials, new therapy options and independent research on models of care and practices. She is actively involved in physician and patient education and was the founder of the regional neurology update course for family physicians. She has also published extensively on MS. Her goal is to provide patients with the best care available to support self-sufficiency and an optimum quality of life. | | | |  | |
