Editorial Review by Elsie Gulick, PhD, FAAN:
LaRocca and Kalb describe assessment and intervention strategies for the following cognitive challenges among persons with MS: memory, information processing, attention and concentration, ability to shift between tasks, conceptual reasoning and problem solving, executive functioning, and visual perceptual functions and spatial orientation. The book is written for MS patients and their families. It is easy to read and written in a very patient-sensitive manner.

Fraser et al. include a chapter authored by David C. Clemmons entitled, Help with cognitive problems: Using neuropsychological information effectively, in their MS Workbook. The chapter includes a description, of common cognitive problems experienced by persons with MS (memory, multitasking/processing information, executive functioning) together with assessment and intervention strategies. The material is presented in a reader-friendly manner with patient self-assessment tools and helpful guidance for those with cognitive problems.
