Welcome to the Road to Spring

Posted By June Halper, Monday, March 11, 2019

Welcome to the road to Spring.  The first step is always losing one hours’ precious sleep as we make our clocks SPRING FORWARD.  I can feel the season changing at this time of year.  The sun is a bit warmer; there are more birds and squirrels running around in my back yard.  I feel Spring fever is coming on.  I cannot wait to start planting (in my spare time HA!)  I think 2019 will be special for all of us.

Along with a change of season that I celebrate, I am happy to report that exciting things are happening in the world of MS.  The CMSC continues its contributions to changes.  The third edition of the CMSC Practical Guidelines for the Selection of Disease-Modifying Therapies in MS is now available online and in hard copy.  Our expert writing group, ably led by Dr. Corey Ford and Dr. Sarah Morrow, have produced a landmark reference document with state-of-the art evidence, accompanied by graphics,  on treatment selection in relapsing, highly active, and progressive forms of MS.  In addition hot topics such as switching therapies, pediatric onset MS, and DMT use before, during, and after pregnancy are addressed.  Congratulations to the leadership and our expert writers: Dr. Guy Buckle, Dr. Patricia Coyle, Colleen Harris, Dr. Sharon Lynch, Dr. Lori Mayer, Dr. Robert Naismith, and Dr. Eluen Ann Yeh.  A valuable addition to our MS library!  Kudos to all.  Happy Spring to all.

March –Spring Begins

Posted By June Halper, Tuesday, March 5, 2019

March –Spring begins; planning for our gardens; renewing our New Year’s resolutions; MS Awareness month.  MS Awareness is an all-year-round activity for the MS community but it is great that the world is pausing to focus on the challenges and the possibilities of multiple sclerosis.  Let’s do it!  Post your stories on social media.  Share your experiences – positive as well as problems – with your friends and family.

Let’s fight MS together this month and the whole year round!
