This conference focuses on measurement tools for gait and balance in multiple sclerosis. The morning sessions will discuss measurement selection and quality, and include a session summarizing the latest data from the Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS) Special Interest Group on Mobility in Europe. The afternoon sessions will address specific impairments as they contribute to gait and balance dysfunction in people with MS.

  • Describe and discuss the attributes of a good outcome measure.
  • Describe and discuss available measurement toolboxes for gait and balance in MS.
  • Describe and discuss the lessons learned about the measurement of gait and balance in MS from the Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS) multicenter trials.
  • Describe and discuss the contributions of specific impairments to balance dysfunction in MS.
